Langley 1st XI entertained high flying Stockport Trinity and despite a great start were well beaten by the league leaders. Trinity batted first and Adam Cartwright struck in his first over when Langton 4 was caught at slip by Alex Berzins. Berzins then struck when he bowled Higginbotham 1 as Trinity were reduced to 13-2.
Hugill was looking in good order and he was joined by skipper Shaw. They pushed the score to 43 Berzins then bowled the latter for 17. Newton 9 soon followed superbly run out by John Scragg and when Cartwright bowled Hugill 37 Langley were in control as Trinity were wobbling on 68-5.
Credit to Shah 30 and Zaheer Khan 82 they took the game away from Langley with some positive play and good running, Shah was caught at mid off by Pennington off Matty Doggart and Berzins superbly had Khan caught and bowled as Trinity declared on 199-7.
For Langley Berzins 3-47 and Cartwright 2-48 were the pick. In reply Langley put in a horror show in the face of some good accurate bowling as they tamely subsided to 58 all out, only Luke Cartwright 31 can take any credit. Zohaib Khan 4-7 and Jones 4-19 both bowled very well.
Langley 2s put in a much more competitive display away at Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge, the hosts were bowled out for 206, Isaac Anderson 3-20, Tim Wilkinson-Hall 2-26 and Liam Boon 2-39 all bowled well.
In response Langley posted 158-8, Graham Bowden scored a fine half century before being bowled for 56, Steven Boon 37 and Tim Wilkinson-Hall 26* were also in the runs.
